We provide two models of technical support partnership

  • Limited technical partnership is where support is extended to partner organization based on requirement like field study, training and pre decided field follow ups. At present around 30 organisations are being supported for area feasibility study by The Goat Trust on this model. Such support generally costs Rs 2 to 3 Lakh as professional fee for 500 goat farmers in 12 months.
  • Full technical partnership is where all kind of support for a cluster for a period of 24 months. Per year cost of support all inclusive for 1000 goat farmers is roughly Rs 8 to 10 lakh. Normally two years cost per goat farmer family comes to Rs 650 to 700 inclusive of professional, travel, back office and overhead costs.
  • ‘The Goat Gurukul’

    On campus training

    The Goat Trust provides fee based individual and group trainings at the TGT campus better known as ‘The Goat Gurukul’. Special features of our trainings are as follows:

    • Farm based practical training in own farm to provide hands-on experience
    • Community Livestock Business Centre for exposure on actual cases and the process to handle it
    • Learning from community with pilot experiments
    • Experienced faculty with an average experience of 18 years in the livestock industry
    • Have over 18 video tools, 17 games and 12 picture based books apart from participatory training process to enable learning from as many sources as is required by the learner
    • Video show in evening to use evening time effectively
    • Facility for evening play, outside campus walks and physical exercise
    • Homely food managed by participants themselves
    • Campus has calm and rejuvenating ambience for reflections and discussions
    • Facility for group discussions outside training hall

    ‘The Goat Trust’

    Where scientific meets traditional

    The Goat Trust has a team of qualified researchers and multi-disciplinary technical experts including veterinarians, livestock management experts, social scientists etc. The in house experts pave the way for the existing knowledge & technologies available from research institutions for them to be used as required by target beneficiaries. They also work on documenting, validating and disseminating traditional knowledge and best practices of small livestock farmers. Finally, the idea is to work on modifying their existing infrastructure based on scientific principles and participatory framework with. Technologies that The Goat Trust has been working on are:

    Micro Leasing Services

    Micro leasing has been proven to be more suitable and sustainable business than micro credit while working with small livestock holders. The Goat Trust has been able to pilot and standardize micro leasing process for small livestock like goats and ducks, working with communities in and around its Training & Research Centre. After thorough experimentation, a prototype design with process details and monitoring tools (including software) is ready to support willing partners, who want to replicate the micro leasing model as a sustainable pro poor business.     Goat farm establishment support

    We provide goat farm establishment support to interested farm entrepreneurs on cost basis where we cover goat supply as per our policy, vaccine and farm materials on cost basis, professional engagements on costs basis, phone and email support on association, support in linking saleable goats and bucks of the farm at 10 percent less cost than in the market.
